There has been a great deal of research about how the Internet can impact educational results in schools. However, it seems that this research is still inconclusive as some people are saying it does or others are saying it doesn’t. This is because the question hasn’t been answered as yet with some experts saying that the Internet has no effects on the academic process of students while others say it has some positive effects.
The new study considered on the internet and its effect on the views of students, parents and teachers about using web-based homework in the school system, with special emphasis on its impact in student’s scores and performance. The study found that when the students were given the opportunity to work online in a home, they did not have any problems with the way they did their assignments but, the study also noted that when they tried to communicate with their classmates in school, the results are less than satisfactory.
The results of the study further stated that the students who did not work at home work were usually found less competent in performing well in school and the most common problems for them were lack of attention and concentration while doing their homework, and not finishing all the work before the deadline. On the other hand, the students who worked at home were more focused on completing their homework and getting a good score.
Another problem of using web based homework for school is that some students would not have any experience with working online. Some schools and teachers may still need a good introduction of the working environment of the Internet for them to use it properly. A lot of the online courses require the students to create accounts, which may be more difficult to understand for some students who have no knowledge in creating a password-protected account.
Some people also doubt if homework in school really helps to improve the quality of the education that they receive. For example, students who are constantly working online tend to have very poor grades and are less focused compared to students who are used to attending classes in a traditional classroom setting. This is because the Internet students have little time to do their homework and study. They are usually too busy with using the computer for some important tasks like checking their emails.
Another problem that may occur in homework for school is that many students do not have enough motivation to complete their assignments since they are always being told by their teacher that they are being lazy and must do more homework. The result is that these students may tend to procrastinate instead of working hard.
